This website is my art shop. After publishing my work on mastodon.art • @humanum I received requests for where to buy prints of my work. This came as a nice surprise and I had not then planned or expected interest like this. Of course I was happy to hear that people would like to have my art on their walls. I got a few commissions and recently decided that rather than sell my work on one of the large site, I’d prefer to do this on my own site ~ and here we are ツ

my focus

My art work explores various concepts around the topic of nature and the beauty of earth. While I sign each piece with my name, I chose to publish my work under the artist psydonym ‘humanum’, Mensch, a human being in line with the subject.

Nature, animals and plants, and especially trees, have always been close to my heart. And in these days of much dispair in the world, occupying my mind with subjects of nature eases my mind and is a reprieve from the stresses of everyday life.

portfolio of work

When I resumed my art work creation, I’d made a promise to myself to share everything I created online and with my connections on mastodon.art and put it online with a description in a chronological collection of 20 pieces at a time. This meant I had a process and a plan I wanted to stick to — and this site initially was a mere archive of everything I produced. I am keeping this going and continue to update this archive.

With the increasing interest and wonderful comments on my work, I decided on creating a more refined portfolio to feature more select pieces and experiments with different colour treatments. This resulted in the new version of the site – a portfolio where I am now curating themed collections.

The online shop is now open and I am in the process of selecting pieces and making them available for sale. Based on the popularity on mastodon and the wonderful comments I received, I will continue to add art works. And if you are interested in purchasing a specific piece from the gallery which is not in the shop, please feel free to let me know and I can add it ツ
