the final gasp
Images of pollution and resulting damage to the environment, be that oceans, mountains or fields, tend to stick in my mind and not fade away. I find it hearbreaking to see animals and nature suffer and for some reason, this visual just evolved. I started playing lines and distortion brushes and soon the shape and form reminded me of the head of a bird. And I followed this concept and my memories of animals trapped in plastic guided my edits.
I was in two minds on whether to post this online, on mastodon.art or not. It could be quite disturbing and distressing. While many if not most of my pieces do have a serious angle, my aim is to express this in colour and vibrance to still have a somewhat positive feel. My aim is usualy to create art that people will like and find cheerful, joyous perhaps. However, I decided that this image should be posted regardless as sad truths should be told as well.
